Despite being on the bubble in the latter part of last season, Yabani was among the shows that survived the brutal 2023-2024 season, having snagged a second-season renewal at NOW.
The first season of the series centered on the story of Yaman Ali (played by Halit Özgür Sarı), who returns to his family home years after he was kidnapped. After living on the street for many years, Yaman Ali found his chosen family in Asi and Cesur, and as he navigates the climb up the social ladder, having reunited with his long-lost wealthy family, he brings them along for the bumpy ride. Spoiler Alert: And by bumpy ride, we mean the man he thought to be his father actually turned out not to be his father, but instead the ringleader behind his kidnapping, among other devious things.
TL;DR: there was no shortage of drama in all 36 episodes of the first season, and if the rumors are anything to go by, there's much more to come in Season 2.
With the 2024-2025 season kicking off in September, the new season of Yabani is expected to kick off production this August.
When will season 2 premiere?
The premiere date has yet to be confirmed, but rumor has it that the new season will premiere on September 7. Production on the new season officially kicked off on August 16.
Who's coming back for Yabani season 2?
Unless some major last-minute changes, all of the main protagonists that were left standing in the season finale are expected to return, at least in the first couple of episodes of the new season. Season two potential returners are as follows:

What will happen in Yabani season 2?
While the plot for the new season remains under wraps, going by journalist Birsen Altuntas' reporting, we anticipate that something major is in store for the character Rüya (Simay Barlas). Even more exciting are the protests of the new family, the Emirdağ family, that will be joining the series' cast. Said the family will be headed by a character named Hande, played by actress Nergis Öztürk. İlayda Akdoğan will play her daughter Derin. A new character called Adem (played by Hakan Çelebi) will also be joining the cast, and per journalist Birsen Altuntas' reporting, the character will be a troublemaker in the series and will cause problems for fan-favorite character Asi i (Rojbin Erden).
Additionally, the writers of the series have changed. Hilal Yıldız has handed off screenwriting duties to Yekta Torun, best known for Tozluyaka. Filiz Adıgüzel has also come on board to direct the new season.
Are there any trailers for Yabani season 2?
Lucky us! NOW released a first look at the new season on August 9. The trailer kicks off with a scene featuring all of the main characters on what looks like the Yaman Ali and Rüya wedding day. "My entire family. My loved ones. Those who loved each other. We were all under the roof we said would never collapse, or at least we thought so," narrates Yaman Ali.
