by

Winners for the 2023 International Emmy® Awards were announced today by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, at a gala held in New York City, on Monday, November 20, 2023.

Turkish Drama Yargı (Family Secrets) has snagged the award for 'Best Telenovela' at the 51st edition of the International Emmy® Awards.

The series, which was competing against other critically-acclaimed shows from Brazil and Portugal, is the first Turkish drama to win in the category since 2017, when Kara Sevda, also produced by Ay Yapım nabbed the prestigious award.

Led by Pınar Deniz and now two-time iEmmy winner Kaan Urgancıoğlu, Yargi follows the story of a no-nonsense Prosecutor IIgaz (Urgancıoğlu), who has to find a highly competent attorney when his brother is accused of murder. He crosses paths with Ceylin, a limitless attorney but things soon get complicated when the victim turns out to be Ceylin's sister. When the war between them turns into passionate love, everything turns upside down.

Yargi is currently airing its third season on Kanal D in Türkiye.
