NATPE 2021: The In-Demand Genre of Turkish Dramas

It's that time of the year again, when the first major TV dealmaking and networking event of the year, NATPE Miami, kicks off in style, bringing together content buyers and distributors alike. As the annual event is usually held in January, the 2020 edition of the event ended being one of the only in-person networking events held last year, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the second wave of the pandemic now in full swing, the US-run event is being held virtually this year, and many of what makes it so special (i.e. the insightful keynote speakers) remain. NATPE Virtual Miami is set to run Jan. 19-22, with the market running Jan. 19-29.

As with previous years, the slate of shows being showcased is frontloaded with a slew of Turkish dramas, and with the increasing demand for ready-to-go content, the chances of getting acquired in other countries have never been better.

Below is a list of some of the scripted Turkish series that distributors are highlighting on their exhibitor pages on the NATPE virtual platform, which is currently available to key players in TV industries from all around the world.
