Turkish dramas continue to prove their evergreen status, with adaptation after adaptation being made across the globe.
Asi, the massively popular 2007 Turkish drama, is the latest to be adapted, this time in Mexico under the title, "Me Atrevo a Amarte" (I dare to love you).
The remake, commissioned by the powerhouse TelevisaUnivision, premiered with much fanfare on Monday, February 24, featuring Kimberly Dos Ramos and Rodrigo Guirao in the roles originally played by Tuba Büyüküstün and Murat Yıldırım, respectively.
Much like the original series, Me Atrevo a Amarte, produced by Salvador Mejía for Mexico's las estrellas, is described as a story of love, injustice, and vengeance, in which the characters will be torn between their past mistakes and the search for the path that will allow them to achieve happiness.
The remainder of the cast of the series includes some telenovela favourites: Mariluz Bermúdez, Arantza Ruiz, César Évora, Ignacio Guadalupe, Horacio Pancheri, Juan Pablo Gil, Salvador Pineda, Danna García, Naomi Hernández, Karyme Lozano, Marlene Favela, and more.
