The cast of atv's new series Karadut, which is preparing to make an ambitious entry into the season, got together recently for a table read.
Karadut, which will follow an unprecedented story about love, marriage, family ties, and secrets, stars İrem Helvacıoğlu, Şükrü Özyıldız, alongside Aslı İnandık, Burak Dakak, Nursel Köse, Selin Türkmen, Ebrar Karabakan, Onur Gürçay, Naz Elmas, Rami Narin, Elif Nur Kerkük, İpek Ayaz Kortunç and Engin Şenkan.
Produced by Tims&B Productions' Timur Savcı and Burak Sağyaşar, the screenplay for the series is written by Sırma Yanık and directed by Murat Saraçoğlu.
Karadut centers on Zuhal Erdem (Helvacıoğlu), a personal development expert at the peak of her career, who has achieved success through her consulting on love and relationships and the books she has written. However, despite her persona as a modern, beautiful urban woman, she is entirely different at home, where she lives with her father and sisters. Zuhal's life turned upside down when she lost her mother due to an incident when she was just 17 years old. She dedicated herself to raising her three sisters and caring for her father, living her deceased mother's life until her 40s. Zuhal never defied the strict and extremely obsessive orders of her father, Çetin. She raised her sisters Figen, who is just a few years younger than her, Aslı, who is in her 20s, and Begüm, who is still a high school student, sacrificing everything for them. The true cause of her chronic loneliness is her father. To make up for a mistake she made in her youth, Zuhal made a promise to Çetin: She would become the lady of the house and ensure her mother's absence would not be felt. In the series, Zuhal will be tested by her great love, Tayfun (Özyıldız).
Karadut will premiere this September on atv.
