Albeit a pandemic, Netflix has managed to find the perfect leading lady for their latest Turkish original, Fatma. As announced earlier this year, Fatma is amongst one of the many series they are set to produce to further boost their presence in Turkey and Beyond.

Fan-favorite Burcu Biricik will star in Fatma as the title lady, a 35-year-old woman, and an ordinary cleaning lady who commits an unexpected murder while searching for her missing husband, Zafer, who was just released from jail. Zafer’s dodgy underground associates soon find out what she did, and the only way for her to survive in this man’s world is to continue killing. She gets away with it too - since no one takes her to be more than an ordinary cleaner, she becomes an invisible killer. In the end, murder becomes a release for the years of struggle and grief that she had repressed, and a new part of her identity she must confront.

Fatma, which was slated to begin production sometime this year, is produced by Basak Abacigil, created and directed by an up-and-coming writer Ozgur Onurme.

Biricik has starred in other action dramas (Kuzgun, 8 Gun) prior to this, which is why we think she'll be perfect in this role. We can't wait to see her in action, #FemmeFatale.

Stay tuned for more.
