Ep 14 Photo 1

Ali Riza wakes up in a park after being abducted.  He has flashbacks of being tortured and electrocuted while being interrogated about who he works for and his relationship with the consortium.  He’s confused, scared, and angry as he catches a ride to the Sayer Taxi stop.  Meanwhile, no one is aware of what happened to him except for Hasan and his friends who aren’t sure what to do since Halide and his mom keep calling and texting him.  Once Ali Riza arrives at the taxi stop, he explains what happened but doesn’t understand why someone would go through all that trouble to just release him.  Ali Riza asks about Numan, who of course managed to escape before saying anything.  He asks Ramcho to check Numan’s neighborhood to see if he hears anything about his location.

Numan meets with Burak to let him know Ali Riza interrupted their plan to kill Yavuz and before he was able to shoot him in the head, he was suddenly abducted by special force type men.  Numan tells Burak he’s getting tired of all the problems they keep encountering, so to satisfy him, Burak tells him he’ll find out who was behind Ali Riza’s abduction.

Ali Riza speaks with Muzaffer to find out if he’s heard anything but he says they haven’t been able to find any information.  Ali Riza fills him in on what happened and assures him he never talked about their secret operation.  Muzaffer tells Ali Riza he has two possible ideas of who could have done it.  He says it may have been a foreign entity that has Ali Riza on their radar or someone who pretended to be special forces to try to get information from him.  Ali Riza immediately thinks of Fuat.  He calls him to ask for a meeting with the consortium to let them know what occurred.

Halide still hasn’t heard from Ali Riza.  As she is about to go look for him, Ms. Rukiya arrives.  She’s also looking for him, hoping to get information from her.  Halide tells her she’s been calling and sending him messages but hasn’t seen or heard from him even though he’s checked his messages.  She assumes he changed his mind about their relationship because of her father but Ms. Rukiya reassures her no one can change his mind.

During the meeting with the consortium, Ali Riza tells the partners of the interrogation he suffered during his abduction as he was about to capture Numan.  They immediately think he was released because he gave them the information they wanted however Fuat confesses he’s the one who ordered Ali Riza’s abduction and interrogation.  He explains he wanted to test him and satisfy his doubts so he was there while Ali Riza was being interrogated who never gave them up.  They all congratulate Ali Riza for his loyalty but Hasmet becomes angry that Fuat didn’t tell them of his plan that could have backfired if Ali Riza hadn’t reached out to them.  Ali Riza warns the partners that because of the fake abduction, Numan got away again which may cost them.

Afterward, Burak asks Fuat why Ali Riza is still alive after being interrogated by special forces.  Fuat tells him he’s the one who had him abducted.  Burak thinks he’s taking a risk letting him live but Fuat warns him about Numan.  He asks if he’s working with him but of course Burak denies it.  Fuat tells him Ali Riza will find Numan again and when he does, he won’t be able to save him this time as he did with Salman.

Hasmet asks to meet with Ali Riza after the meeting to check to see how he’s doing.  Hasmet mentions his growing suspicions with Fuat who decided to take Ali Riza at the exact moment when he had captured Numan.  He explains to Ali Riza in their world, a man is measured by his knowledge and the secrets he keeps.  Fuat appears to not want him to capture Numan however he’s not sure why, so Ali Riza tells him he’ll find Numan again.  As he gets up to leave, Hasmet asks if he doesn’t have anything else to say to him.  Ali Riza confesses that during the torture, he feared he would say Halide’s name.  He tells Hasmet he was right, it would be better if he stayed away from her.  Hasmet asks if he has given up on her, but Ali Riza sadly tells him he will never stop loving her, he will just stop showing her his love.

As Ali Riza is leaving, he runs into Halide who starts yelling at him for not telling her where he’s been and for making her worry.  She says she can’t do it anymore and pleads with him to never leave her in the dark again.  As they hug, Ali Riza tells her they can no longer be together.  He uses the excuse of getting together at the wrong time.  She’s surprised and asks if he’s breaking up with her because of her father or to protect her but he says no.  She doesn’t understand why he’s doing it but walks away.

Burak continues to provoke Yavuz into telling Hasmet that Ali Riza used him to trap Numan but Yavuz says the partners will take care of him on their own.  Burak tells Yavuz that Ali Riza may not be punished since he’s Hasmet’s future son-in-law.  This information leaves Yavuz concerned especially when Burak reminds him that Hasmet should have picked him instead of Ali Riza to take his place.  Ultimately, Yavuz visits Hasmet to let him know his meeting with Ali Riza did not go well.  He says Ali Riza was rude and spoke down to him, however, Hasmet doesn’t believe him so he orders Ali Riza to his house so he can hear his side of the story.  When Ali Riza arrives, he tells Hasmet he used Yavuz to lure Numan into a trap to uncover Burak working with him.  Burak wanted Numan to kill Yavuz and blame Ali Riza for it.  Hasmet asks Ali Riza if anyone else knew about his plan because Fuat’s operation to abduct him wasn’t because of Numan, it was to protect Burak from Ali Riza discovering the truth.  Hasmet warns Ali Riza to be more careful who he tells his plans because he may have an informant within his inner circle who's feeding Fuat the information.

Halide visits her aunt to help her understand her break-up.  Melek reminds her of being Hasmet’s daughter, she will encounter people who will either try to take advantage of her father’s power or leave because of their fear of him.  Melek believes Ali Riza left her so Hasmet wouldn’t become his enemy.  She tells her she can never marry for love because of the life she was born into.  She says her mom and Hasmet did marry for love but Melek and Mithat didn’t.  She confesses she did fall in love once but he chose to be with someone else.  When Halide asks who that person was, Derya arrives who continues to be upset that Melek doesn’t let her be with Burak.  Halide tries to explain that Burak isn’t a good person but Derya refuses to listen to either of them.

Burak tries to spend time with Murat and Fusun at their apartment but Fusun is not happy with him visiting them.  She tells Murat she’s not comfortable with him coming around after what he did to Nihan and asks Murat to tell him not to visit them anymore.  Reluctantly, Murat tells Burak who’s surprised that Murat didn’t defend him but he understands and leaves.

Hasmet takes dinner to Halide at the clinic since she’s staying late at work.  He tells her he knows she blames him for their break-up but Halide says doesn’t.  She knows he’s capable of doing a lot for love especially all he did for her mom when she was alive.  She says a man’s heart is as big as he can go for a woman, and a person can love as much as his heart is big.  She says she realized Ali Riza is not as brave as she thought.

As Ali Riza continues his mission to find Numan, he locates one of his warehouses that’s used to transport his money and attacks it quickly.  He takes down Numan’s men as well as his money.  Later, Ali Riza passes by the clinic and while hiding, he catches a quick glimpse of Halide.  When he gets home, he finally breaks down, unable to continue to show a strong façade, from what he’s been experiencing the past few days as soon as he sees his mom.

The following day, Numan finds out his money was taken by Ali Riza and calls Burak demanding he gives him money or he’s going to start talking.  Burak can’t afford to lose Numan as his ally so he has Fiko deliver money via a parking lot.  However, Ali Riza has Ferit steal the money to cause more tension between Numan and Burak to eventually draw out Numan from his hiding place.

Hasmet surprises Fuat at his house.  He accuses him of saving Numan on purpose when he rolled out his plan to abduct Ali Riza.  Fuat denies it but Hasmet tells him that Burak is with Numan all day, every day.  He tells him if Ali Riza were to capture Numan and bring him before the consortium, he would snitch on Burak so to prevent that, Fuat has been preventing Numan from being captured.  However, Fuat says if that were true, he could simply have Numan killed to prevent him from speaking.  Hasmet isn’t convinced, so he tells Fuat he’s been benefiting from the consortium feuding because of Numan and he can prove it.

Numan discovers the bag of money Burak sent him is full of paper.  All of a sudden, he’s being attacked by masked men which Numan thinks is Burak when it’s actually Ali Riza.  He lets him escape so he can have a confrontation with Burak.

Melek finally decides to share the recording of the conversation from Fuat’s house.  Before he listens, she tells him it may heal his wounds surrounding his wife and son’s murder but it will open other bigger wounds.

Murt suffers a confrontation with Burak and is taken to Halide’s clinic.  After she finds out what happened, she rushes from the clinic to see Burak and demands he leaves the neighborhood.  As she argues with Burak, Numan and his men arrive and begin shooting at Burak.  Ali Riza arrives at the same time as Halide gets shot!  Until next week.

My Thoughts:

This was one of THE most intense episodes yet.  I wanted to cry with Ali Riza as he confessed to Hasmet how his only thoughts were of Halide when he believed he was going to die and again when he broke down in front of his mom.  Tolga Saritas was awesome!  I was extremely sad when Ali Riza broke up with Halide after she was so worried about him.  Her look of devastation and disbelief said it all - I could feel her pain.  Ayca Aysin Turan was fabulous!  I’m definitely shocked at the ending – Ali Riza is going to be on a warpath so Numan and Burak better watch out.  My favorite quote from this episode is by Hasmet to Fuat “The one who kills with a wolf, eats with the shepherd, when the turn comes, becomes carrion for jackals.” Hot damn!
