Local Turkish remakes have become a standard in Turkey, with each new "dizi" season bedazzled with a handful of them.

Now, with the undeniable success of Turkish dramas home and abroad, the tables have turned and Turkish dramas are now slowly becoming the blueprint for remakes.

The latest of the Turkish dramas to be adapted is Ay Yapim's Kara Para Aşk/Black Money Love. The highly-successful export, which first aired in Turkey in 2014, starred Tuba Büyüküstün & Engin Akyürek as leads and it followed the subsequent chain of events that occurred after a cop's fiancée and a jewelry designer's father are found dead –– together.

Since its premiere in Turkey, Black Money Love has been licensed to more than 170 territories worldwide by Inter Medya.

The Mexican adaptation, set to premiere later this month, has been titled 'Imperio de Mentiras' (Empire of Lies) and it is lead by two of the biggest Telenovela stars Angelique Boyer and Andrés Palacios. Produced by the iconic Televisa, the adaptation, like the original, will tell the story of "Elisa Cantu" (Angelique Boyer), a passionate art curator, and "Leonardo Velasco" (Andrés Palacios), a National Guard agent, whose lives will be intertwined forever after both lived a terrible tragedy.

Imperio de Mentiras will consist of 80 episodes and it is currently set to air Monday through Fridays on Mexico’s Las Estrellas on September 14 and on Univision in the U.S. on September 21.
