With the steadfast success of Turkish dramas internationally, last year, Telemundo Global Studios signed a multi-year co-production agreement with Turkey’s Inter Medya as the distribution company forayed into production.
The first series to emerge from the co-production agreement is a suspense drama, entitled "Blue Cage" (Mavi Sürgün), led by Damla Sönmez and Caner Cindoruk.
Produced by O3 Medya, the series follows Oğuz who resettles with his children in a coastal town after the unexpected loss of his wife. There, fate has him save a young woman by the name of Defne and bring her into his home. Her presence brings back some of the hope they had all lost. However, when this woman recovers her lost memory, she realizes she was a con artist who must now remain in hiding. How long can Defne keep her secret safe? What will Oğuz do when he finds out about the mob? Will it drive him away?
Blue Cage is set to air abroad first before hopefully landing on Turkey TV at a later date.
