Amid the unprecedented rise of Turkish series in recent years, the demand for remakes has understandably soared. Later this year, Las Hijas de la Señora García, a Mexican update to the much-buzzed-about 2017 Turkish Drama Fazilet Hanım ve Kızları, will premiere, joining the fast-growing list of Spanish remakes of Turkish dramas.
The remake, which will air Mexico's Las Estrellas during the much-sort-after primetime slot, is produced by José Alberto Castro, one of the country's powerhouse producers.
Like the original series, Las Hijas de la Señora García is a melodrama full of maternal moments and exciting twists. Veteran Mexican actress María Sorte will play Mrs. Garcia, a mother determined to give her daughters, Valeria (Oka Giner) and Mar (Ela Velden), a better future than the one she lived. In her effort to take them away from poverty, Mrs. Garcia will fight to see her own dreams reflected in her daughters and give them the highest standard of living.
The series' cast also includes some telenovela favorites, including Guillermo García Cantú, Laura Flores, Juan Diego Covarrubias, Emmanuel Palomares, Brandon Peniche, Macarena Miguel, Geraldine Bazán, Nuria Bages, Claudia Bouza, Mónica Dionne, Arlette Pacheco, Alex Perea, Roxana Castellanos, and Luis Gatica, among others.
