No, you're not dreaming. Bergüzar Korel AND Mehmet Günsür are returning to free TV–together, AT THE SAME TIME. Now that you have digested that news let us tell you a bit more about the series.
Titled Annem Ankara, the 90s-set series is produced by BKM and will follow the struggles of a single mother in Ankara, evoking familiar feelings from recent times along the way. The story of ‘Zuhal,’ a mother of three children and the wife of a man who could never truly be a son to anyone, promises to tug at the heartstrings.
Based on a true story, Annem Ankara will portray the journey of a solitary but resilient woman within her home. The series is penned by Başak Angigün and directed by the veteran director Faruk Teber.
Set to premiere in the forthcoming 2024-25 season, Annem Ankara also stars Özgürcan Çevik, Gökçe Eyüboğlu ve Sinem Uslu, Yıldıray Şahinler, Gülhan Tekin, Muharrem Türkseven, Mustafa Açılan, Fatma Toptaş, Dilek Çelebi, Durukan Çelikkaya, Ezgi Gör, Selen Özbayrak, Başak Akan, Mustafa Enis Bilir, Hakan Akın, and Celile Toyon.
“They say every person’s homeland is their mother. Beyond her, every land feels foreign. A human is like a magical color, appearing and disappearing with the sunset under the sky’s dome. This story is about the color we’ve lost. The story of my homeland and its people,” the thought-provoking plot of the series states.
Annem Ankara will premiere this fall on Kanal D.
