It's official. Following hints dropped just a few days ago, Burçin Terzioğlu is officially on her way back to blessing our (computer) screens. The phenomenal actress has been selected to replace her Merhamet co-star Özgü Namal in EXXEN's forthcoming project, entitled "Hükümsüz."
With production moving from Istanbul to Izmir, Özgü Namal, who was to mark her 7-year return to screens with this project, opted to drop out, citing family commitments.
Hükümsüz is one of the first projects on the upcoming dizi slate of EXXEN, the new Turkish streaming service set to officially launch in the new year.
While exact specifics about the project haven't been announced, we hear the show will revolve around a strong female lead, and on that note, what better actress to take over the reins than the immensely talented, Burçin Terzioğlu? We're excited AF if you couldn't already tell.
Per TV100, Burçin Terzioğlu, who will reportedly play a lawyer in the series, will be accompanied by Alican Yücesoy, Hande Doğandemir and İsmail Hacıoğlu, in the series. Furthermore, the series will explore the issues of violence against women, with a lot of famous faces set to make appearances. "Every preventable death is murder," is the slogan for Hükümsüz
Pre-production is currently underway in Izmir for the 50-minute-an-episode project, with Oğulcan Kırca, Mert Dikmen and Fulya Özcan penning the script and Ömer Faruk Sorak set to direct.
Earlier this season, Terzioğlu guest-starred as herself in an episode of Star TV's Menajerimi Ara, and on-brand, her appearance created quite the buzz on social media.
