Bir Annenin Günahı is on the move! Limon Film announced this morning the decision to withdraw their latest highly anticipated remake from FOX, and onto Kanal D instead!
The future of the drama series, which began production in March but soon had to halt due to the COVID-19 pandemic, had been in limbo up until today, and with a lot of cast members move on from the project in the last couple of months, things weren't looking good.
With Kanal D now taking the reigns, a renewed staff – some new, some old – will lead the drama instead.
Bir Annenin Günahı is based on the hit Filipino drama My Mother's Guilt, and it follows the story of a selfless single mother whose world revolves around her family. While she does everything she can for them, her primary focus is on her son who was born with a heart condition. One day, after her son suffers a near-fatal heart attack, she desperately agrees to a grim deal where she does the unthinkable and takes a man's life to save her son's. Her son survives, but she has to live with the guilt of her crime.
Many years later, her conscience continues to hound her especially when she befriends, the widow of the man she murdered. Further complications arise when her son falls for the independent daughter who hasn’t moved on from her father’s death.
The cast lineup is now said to include: Özge Özberk, Musa Uzunlar, Emre Kınay, Mert Yazıcıoğlu, Simay Barlas and Pamir Pekin.
The series is set to be directed by Yüksel Aksu (Avlu), with Özlem Atasoy and Yeşim Aslan on screenwriting duties.
